The Inverted U
Knowing your strengths is essential. But equally important is understanding when you're under- or over-using them. As wonderful as a skill may be – say, honesty or perseverance – part of what we need to learn is when, and to what extent, a skill may be applied appropriately.
The concept of the Inverted U (a.k.a. Bell Curve, Normal Curve, McDonald's Arch, etc.) is massively helpful for self-reflection. Use it for thinking about your academics, career, personal life, or any area. It can be applied in dozens of ways.
